IP address

IP addresses, from the acronym Internet Protocol, are a unique and unrepeatable number that identifies any system connected to a network. IP addresses can be “public”, if they are directly accessible from any system connected to the Internet, or “private”, if they are internal to a LAN and only accessible from computers connected to that private network.
